Saturday Night – I love you
The highlight of the festival is Saturday night. We have world known stars, emissaries of Finnish gospel, blasts from the past, mood setters, clear teaching of the Word, a few glimpses of Africa and of course the festival’s house band giving their best. The renewed Newsboys is presenting their new singer who became world famous through dc Talk, Michael Tait. HB will show their gig skills that have been honed on the stages of Europe. Juha Tapio will also be present! Putting your feet on fire will be G-Powered, coming to teach the Bible will be John Nunes, adding diverse colors to the evening will be Spice up your life! – an afrodance special – and Ville Auvinen’s wild Mission Corner from Zambia.
Drama Pieces about Love by Muu vaara!
Muu vaara! will bring drama to the stage about the greatest and most wonderful gift, love. We are in for a profound message, real life situations and outrageous humor. Muu vaara! consists of the following men: Mikko Vaismaa, Sami Asp and Antti Sevanto.
Theme Song Competition
One thing adding to the great atmosphere of the festival is its own theme song. It is sung throughout the weekend and the chorus will stay with you even after the weekend. You have the opportunity to make this year’s theme song for the festival. So start writing and composing your own song – in November the whole stadium might be chanting your tune! The Greatest Is Love –Movie Festival
The second short film festival to be held beckons you to movie making. Grab a camera, make a movie with your friend and send it to us by 22.10. A jury will choose which entries make it to the movie festival on Sunday. Professionals will be providing constructive criticism and the winner will be rewarded by being aired in the main concert. The theme for the films is “the greatest is love”. Check out the details and let your camera start rolling.
The Bible Stall & The Festival Covenant
The most important stall of the festival is already known. During the festival weekend the Bible stall is ready to serve by answering all sorts of questions concerning the Bible. At the stall you can test your Bible knowledge and listen to lightning lectures on the Bible among other things. At the stall, serving you will be professional and pleasant, Bible teachers from Åbo Akademi University’s theological department. The people from the booth challenge you to make a festival covenant: run the Bible marathon by reading through the whole Bible before the festival. Do you have what it takes? Banderole Competition
What would the festival hall’s balconies be like without the colorful banderoles from various congregations? The theme for this year’s competition is “I love you”. The Festival Congregation of the Year
Even this year, the festival congregation of the year will be chosen. Argue with a twinkle in your eyes why your bunch rises up from among all others, to be the congregation of the year. Creativity, inventiveness, activity and humor will be rewarded with a fine trophy and earthly glory. More information here.
Deep Sea Studio Diving
The real pearl of the festival are the discussion studios. They are deep sea diving places for the young generation of the church. Do not miss the opportunity by pointlessly fooling around, but instead dive in to see and hear and discuss about stuff, life and faith. Among the participants of the studios numerous prizes will be raffled of.
Test Your Limits at the Workshops
The festival workshops move you to a new reality. Surprise yourself and your friends by testing your limits. The Gospel Star competition beckons you to sing familiar songs accompanied by a band. After some spontaneous and positive feedback, one commendable candidate will be allowed to command the stage on the big stadium on Sunday. The world of dance calls people of all ages, shapes and sizes to try out the spirit of Ireland by Riverdancing. In the comic book workshop we will seize a pencil in our beautiful hands and let our imagination run wild. Dive into the wonderful worlds of comic book drawing!
Confirmation Camp Reunion
There is a trip down memory lane away from the festival clamor, to the middle of this year’s wonderful summer camps (only for the youngsters, group leaders and workers who were on confirmation camps arranged by LEAF during the summer of 2010). With us will be: A surprise guest, snacks, friends from camp, mutual memories and shared moments.
